April 10, 2020
Dear Customers & Suppliers,

This letter is to advise you that Clarke Fire Protection Products Ltd (UK) will be implementing a phased reopening of our Coatbridge manufacturing facility as of Tuesday 14th April. Please note Clarke Fire Protection Products Inc (USA) remains fully operational.

On 23rd March 2020, the Scottish & UK Government enforced additional measures to address the Coronavirus outbreak. The aim of these measures were to protect the population and to safeguard the functioning of society and the economy. These measures are in force until at least April 14th, at which time the UK government will review them and advise accordingly.

In line with our last communication sent on 24th March, Clarke Fire Protection Products Ltd (UK) participated in a temporary 3 week shutdown of our UK production operations as we believed this was the correct and ethical action to take in order to ensure the safety of our staff and play our part in reducing the spread of the COVID-19 virus within society.

Prior to our shutdown we had implemented measures to safeguard our staff by operating two isolated shift groups, with increased sanitary measures. Upon reopening we are enhancing these measures and staff protocols in order to comply with the latest safe social distancing and health & safety recommendations published by our government.

This has allowed us to plan a phased reopening of our Coatbridge operations starting Tuesday 14th April with a limited workforce and then progressively scaling production over the coming weeks/months depending on the latest guidance published by our government.

We must stress that we will be operating at a reduced capacity over the short to medium term in order to ensure the safety of our staff and to respect the measures being enforced by government, as such lead times will remain extended during this period.

Due to our 3 week shutdown, our production teams initial focus will be the manufacture of orders originally scheduled to ship during the period of our closure. Once this is complete, we will then be planning production to best fulfil existing orders on our system. Part of this process will involve communication with customers, especially those with a high volume of orders, to discuss the priority and urgency of each order you presently have with us.

We would ask that customers truly consider what projects are essential for manufacture at this time, in order that we may optimize our production capacity and ensure that essential infrastructure projects are fulfilled globally during this critical period.

We promise to keep you fully updated as long as the situation evolves globally and we remain at your disposal for any further questions you may have.

Please continue to stay safe and keep us informed of any significant changes or impacts that the COVID-19 situation is having on your business that we may be able to assist with.

Sincerely yours,

John Y. Blackwood
