On October 1, 2017, Clarke US implemented a new serial number assignment process. Due to lingering field questions about this change, this product bulletin re-addresses this update.
Factory Mutual’s (FM) FM1311, 1312, 1319, 1370, and 1371 requires all engine serial numbers to be included on all fire pump packages at the time of shipment. To comply with this requirement, Clarke has initiated a process to utilize an assigned SO # (Sales Order Acknowledgment number) as our manufactured serial number. The SO# is a unique number assigned to your order which will not change.
EXAMPLE: MFG. S/N: SO 123456 P (SO indicates Sales Order, P indicates Clarke Inc. (US) shipment.)
When an order is received, processed and scheduled, a new SO# is assigned and emailed as part of the order confirmation process. Since the Sales Order/Manufacturing Serial Number will not change, this SO# will represent a common reference point for all service inquiries, warranty submissions, field notifications, and bill of material updates for the life of the product.
In addition, Clarke has now included a bar code on our SHIPPING LABEL which is attached to each engine that ships from our facility in Cincinnati, Ohio. This bar code has been added to assist in your inbound shipment collection procedures.
